Abstract		The article presents nursing as scienific and practical discipline. Nursing is a practical human science. ln a narrower sense nursing is introduced and proved an etical discipline and practice where care for the other/patient is of central worth. A need for knowledge that is essential for maintaining and development of every scietific discipline is also exposed.
