Abstract		In the first part of this article, the author exposes the theoretical framework, which is ethics of care. It is connected to care in a broader context and to one of its elements - attentiveness, which is described by Tronto. The article i.s focused on the relationship between nurses and patients, clients and other co-workers, concentrating on the element of attentiveness. With the results of this research, which is the first of that kind in Slovenia, we try to find out how Slovenian nurses understand attentiveness in their relationship with patients.
