Abstract     ln the contribution, the importance of gene technology development for the field of criminology is presented. The author emphasizes the meaning of the DNA finger prints method and DNA profiling in particular. He is also concerned with the problems that the development might bring about The judge will be bound to the discoveries of biological and medical science, which might cause taking the remaining part of the ethical character (the preceding influence of psychiatrisation and psychologisation of the criminal proceeding) away from the criminal law. The author also presents the basic characteristics of the regulation of DNA sample evidence and the legislation of the subject field.
