Abstrakt		Osteonecrosis is a common complication in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Various reports describe an occurrence of symptomatic osteonecrosis in 10-12% of patients with SLE. Corticosteroids remain the major predisposing factor of osteonecrosis in SLE. High risk patients should be closely monitored so that early osteonecrosis can be diagnosed by sensitive techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging.
