Abstrakt		Advances in the treatment of acute deep vein thrombosis using low molecular weight heparin have made outpatient management possible. The outpatient treatment required a complex multidisciplinary organization of medical care. The essential components of an outpatient programm include appropriate patient selection, adequate pateint education, daily follow-up during treatement with low molecular weight, and easy access to health-care professionals.
