Abstract     The purpose of immobilisation of the injured body and/or extremities is to decrease pain intensity and other threatening complications as a consequence of injuries. With correct immobilisation we decrease the possibility of additional damage to the bones, muscles, nerves, blood vessels and other tissues. With that we can shorten the time of rehabilitation and increase general vitality of the tissues. After correct immobilisation the injured patient feels better and adapts better to the prehospital transportation and in-hospital treatment.
