Abstract     Due to the modified medical problems, changes in the health care system and the needs of patients for an integrated treatment, the role of nurses has greatly changed. The primary aim of such change is to achieve a quality health care in all fields of activity, especially in the practice of emergency medicine in the out-of-hospital settings and further care of patients with life threatening injuries in the hospital emergency departments. In this article we would like to emphasize the importance of cooperation, mutual understanding and respect of teams, the out-of-hospital and the hospital team, at delivery of patients with life threatening injuries to the emergency department.
