Abstract | The emergency medical service often has to treat people who were poisoned and do not cooperate or are unconscious. Proper diagnosis and proper care are of great importance in such cases. Heteroanamnesis, symptoms and knowledge of toxicological syndromes can help to define the poison. Accidental poisoning by hallucinogen plants has been known for quite a long time, especially with children. Some young people want to experience something special, that is why they take hallucinogen plants that are not illegal and can be obtained in the vicinity, e.g. hashish, marijuana,... However, they are not aware of the dangers of their actions. Poisoning by Datura stramonium is the most common cause of hospitalization due to plant poisoning. The case of taking Datura stramonium seeds presented bellow should remind you to consider this as one of the possible causes of poisoning, as well as the problems arising out of that. | |
