Abstract		Imaging technique of the chest in expiration is an additional examination, which is indicated by radiologist on the basis of clinical symptoms or previous diagnostic examinations. In conventional imaging the expiratory views are used if pneumothorax or air trapping is suspected. Lateral decubitus expiratory radiographs are used for small pleural effusions. The CT examination technique in expiration is used for diagnosing small airways disease or perfusional disturbance of lung parenchyma.
