Abstract		Introduction comprises the basic principles of lung function as the ground for lung scintigraphy. In further the ventilation-perfusion scintigraphy is explained methodically. The main indications for check-up and the detailed descriptions of performance principles of the main methods are listed, followed by the description of methods according to their prevalence. The ventilation-perfusion scintigraphy in pulmonary embolism diagnostics is far most frequent, more rare indications are regional lung function estimation, investigation of aspiration of non-radiopaque foreign body, estimation of asthma activity and others.
