Abstract		In this article a national program for quality in healthcare is described. Structures and contents for an introduction and sustainability of total quality management/continuous quality improvement at the national level are explained and the establishment of an Agency for quality and improvement in healthcare is proposed . International and European background are mentioned. Decision of the European Commission is also given. A system for quality in healthcare which will be implemented at national level is shown. The importance of outcomes and other quality indicators that will serve as a basis for performance assessment and accountability of healthcare organizations are emphasized. There is a need for an electronic programs and methods in the field of indicators, selfassessment and accreditation of healthcare organizations.
