Abstrakt		The direct and indirect beneficiaries of the state budget are coping with difficult tasks due to the understandable and justified demands requiring a higher level of quality and simultaneously a bigger cost-effectiveness. Rationalisation and a need of constant improving of business and professional processes is the integral part of every modern economy. That has resulted in many published analyses and papers. Our contribution recapitulates the most important or key factors and presents a consistent synthesis of legal, economic, organisational and other important matters related to the business operation of public health institutions and private concessionaires. They both represent public health service with all relevant advantages and deficiencies.
