Abstrakt     Fever after transplantation of different organs and tissues is usually a consequence of infection (bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic), graft rejection, graft versus host disease, medicationassociated and non-infectious systemic inflammatory responses (e.g., due to pancreatitis, pulmonary embolisms, atelectasis, etc.). It is often a combination of infection and rejection. Some malignances could also be responsible for fever. As infection is the most frequent cause of fever, one of the most important goals after organ transplantation is the prevention and effective treatment of infections. Different infections tend to occur in predictable time periods. There is a broad range of potential sources of infection ranging from latent microorganisms, to pathogens of both community and hospital origin.
