Abstract		This article is a short presentation of interventions and first experience with helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) in Slovenia, from 16 th July 2003 to 30 th of April 2005. In first 22 weeks of its existence, HEMS operated in 261 emergency medial intervention. HEMS became incorporated part of emergency medical system in Slovenia and daily useful service not only for ground EMS units, but also for emergency medical transport between the hospital.
