Abstract		Shock is an emergency that requires bedside evaluation, resuscitation and reevaluation. The initial examination allows the clinician to determine the type of the shock (hypovolemic, cardiogenic, vasodilatatory). The primary survey dictates urgent initial resuscitation that consists of intubation, mechanical ventilation and volumen support. Vasoactive therapy is started when the patient is well volume resuscitated.
