Abstract		We present a short history of the treatment of pyloric stenosis and a more detailed description of todays methods. A retrospective analysis of 252 medical records of newborns operated in 21 years from the 1 st of Januaryl 984 untill the 31 st of December 2004 was performed. Complications were noted. Our results are comparable to those listed in literature. A marked difference is seen only in the type approach to the operation. We still use the subcostal incision whereas in literature we find a circumumbilical incision or, more and more often, a laparoscopic approach.
