Abstract     In the article, anatomy and physiology of lung and breathing have been described first, than pathology and pathophysiology of obstructive lung diseases: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and asthma are discussed. Role of different inflammatory cells (macrophages, neutrophils, mast cells, lymphocystes and eosinophils) in producing different types of inflammation in lung airways have been explained. differences and similarities in clinical picture, pathology and pathophysiology of COPD and asthma have been mentioned. They are very important for deciding about different treatment and controlling of booth diseases.
