Abstract     Liver is the most common localization of the metastases of the colorectal cancer. Patients with a suspicion of metastases or verified metastases diagnosed by noninvasive methods such as ultrasound or computed tomography (CT) are candidates for the operation. Prior to the operation a CT during arterial portography (CTAP) is performed, for the evaluation of the operability. With this method we can evaluate the number, the localization and the position of the metastases in respect to the liver vessels and ducts the most accurately. This significantly contributes to the planing of the operative procedure and the treatment result. The CTAP is based on diferent vascularisation of the normal liver parenchime and the tumor tissue.
