Abstract     Pain is an unpleasant sensual or emotional experience, linked with real or potential tissue trauma, or an experience described with expressions linked to tissue trauma. The fact that the patient cannot relate about the pain does not mean that he is not in pain! Experiencing pain depends on the interaction of many factors. When the pain lasts for a short time, we speak of acute pain, which has its biological meaning. It tells us about a noxious happening in the organism or its immediate surroundings, and has a protectional effect. The pain needs to be recognized and appropriately evaluated (made visible). In the field in which we encounter acute pain, can be widely divided into non-traumatic or internistic and traumatic. Children require special considerations in management of their painful experience. A fast and effective pain relief is far from being merely a humanitary action, as pain usually negatively modulates the pathophysiology of numerous diseases and trauma. The patients are endangered not only by the nature of the disease or trauma, but also by the pain which sets off a cascade of neurohumoral answers by the organ systems.
