Abstract     In this paper we present a measurement of NaCI saline flow trough IV cannula. We compare the measurements with a factory standards that are presented by the manufacturer. In the experiment the infusion bag was positioned at three different levels - 50, 100 and 150 cm above the infusion site. The venous pressure was simulated by the hydrostatic pressure 20 cm H20, where different IV cannulae from different manufacturer were chosen. The flow was sampled within one minute interval. Results showed that with high bore cannula (14 G and 16 G) we cannot reach the flow specifications presented by the manufacturer because of resistivity of infusion system. But by low bore IV cannula we can exceed the hydrostatic flow at the altitude of 150 cm.
