Abstract     The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) endorsed by the World Health Organization on May 22, 2001 is multipurpose classification and is based on a biopsychosocial approach that allows users to document the influence of health conditions on human functioning from biological, individual and societal perspectives. The concepts of activity and participation play an important role in the classification. The aim of this paper is to provide a general overview of ICF and to show the field of occupational therapist's interest - Activity and Participation component and co-operation with Environmental factors. The ICF offers a language that is compatible with our language and values and it is also challenging us to be a part of a larger system. All health professions are being challenged to address their role and their part in the system.
