Abstract     Percutaneous nephrolithotomy is one among the minimal invasive methods for the treatment of nephrolithiasis. The results of the ten years period treatment with this method at the Urological Department in Maribor and Slovenj Gradec are presented. 466 patients were treated and the successful rate was 86%. Urinary tract infection was the most often complication and 267 patients had to receive antibiotics. 12% of patients had to receive the blood transfusion and in two patients the selective embolisation was performed because the severe bleeding. In one of this patients the nephrectomy had to be done. Two patients had the extravasation of fluid into the peritoneal cavity. Two patients had the lesion of the colon-one of them died. It could be concluded that the percutaneous nephrolithotomy is safe and successful method for the treatment of the nephrolithiasis.
