Abstract     Meningoencephalocele and CSF leak is a potentially lethal condtition usually first recognized after suffering purulent meningitis and clear fluid discharge from the nose. They can be predominantly solid or cystic (filled with CSF). They can be resected through external (e.g. subcranial) and endonasal approach. The management consists of two essential and successive steps: resection of meningoencephalocele and duraplasty. In this article we present six cases of patients with CSF leak which was caused by the anomaly in the skull base and meninges with brain tissue protruded through the defect. The CSF leak was identified using high resolution imaging (CT and MRI) and with intrathecal application of the 5% fluorescein solution
