Abstract     The aim of this study was to evaluate the functional status of acute ischaemic stroke patients during early occupational therapy intervention. Thirty patients were assessed at the beginning of occupational therapy intervention and on discharge from the hospital. The Assessment of Motor and Process Skills, which is an activity of daily living measure, was used as the evaluation tool. Results showed that all patients improved. Despite the fact that early functional ability improves when OT intervention is provided, our study was not designed to reveal what factors contribute to functional recovery after stroke.
