Abstract		External fixaton is a method to stabilize the fracture of the bone. With percutaneos set screws, fixed to a metallic framework, the bone fragments are strengthened. The basic indications to set an external fixation are open fractures of II. and III. degree. The most common complications connected to this way of treatment are pin track infection and pin loosening of the bone. In the text we present a case of an injured person, which external fixator was seizured four years after implation and with no present infection. The injured spend this time in a domestic environment without any special care of the Schanz screws.
Summary		Zunanja fiksacija je metoda stabilizacije preloma kosti, kjer s preko kože postavljenimi vijaki, pritrjenimi na kovinsko ogrodje, učvrstimo kostne odlomke. Temeljne indikacije za postavitev zunanjega fiksatorja so odprti prelomi II. in III. stopnje. Najpogostejša zapleta povezana s tem načinom zdravljenja sta okužba ob vijakih in razmajanje vijakov v kosteh. V članku prikazujemo primer poškodovanca, ki mu je bil zunanji fiksator odvzet štiri leta po vstavitvi. Okužba ni bila prisotna, poškodovanec pa je ta čas preživel v domačem okolju brez nege Schanzovih vijakov.
