Abstract     The changes in serum concentrations of prolactin (PRL) and thyrotropin (TSH) following administration of sulpiride, a direct dopamine receptor blocker (D receptor), have been used to study the functional state of receptors involved in thc release of chese hormones in schizophrenic patients. Our aim in this research has been to determine whether the mechanism of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis is informative about the mesolimbic and limbic cortical dopaminergic system, believed to mediate some aspects of psychosis.
