Abstract		Among 1118 injured motorists, scooterists and their fellow-travellers in the year 1991, 58 died. The majority of victims are men, one third under age 20. The main or accompanying cause of accidents with fatal outcome is unsuited speed. Death occured most often during summer, in settlements, following mostly heavy injuries of head, brain and internal organs. Protective helmets were worn only by 18 percent of injured drivers.
