Abstrakt     Organic solvents are a class of liquid organic chemicals called hydrocarbons. Their common properties are volatility and lipophilicity. These characteristics make inhalation the major route of solvent exposure and provide for their ready absorption across the lungs, gastrointestinal tract and skin. Organic solvents are frequently used in various manufacturing processes. However, nearly everyone is exposed to solvents in the conduct of their normal activities. Solvents are classified largely according to molecular structure or functional group, but in general they are divided into aliphatic, aromatic and mixed hydrocarbons. The present paper focuses on the toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic properties of distinctive organic solvents.
