Abstract		The state of general practice during the period 1945-1980 is presented in the contribution. In 1966 there was a renaissance of general practice, shown in the first beginnings of specialization and the foundation of the Section for General Practice at the Slovene Medical Society. Separately, the work of individual general practitioners who performed a pioneer work in revitalizing the general practice in Slovenia is shown. Materials are divided in folowing chapters promotion of general practice, postgraduate training and professional seminars for general practitioners, equipment chair for general practice, working practice, internship and state examinations and collaboration with Yougoslav practitioners.
