Abstract     Towards the end of the 20th century we have been witness to mass killings and illegal liquidations exspecialliy in civil wars and people' s uprisings. In this area Slovenia is tragic example; during the war (1941-1945) it lost a disproportionately large number of people and foreign fronts in terms of forcibly mobilised soldiers, as well during Partisan operations and most of all in mass liquidations immediately after the war. According to existing records, at least 10,000 people were liquidated and buried in the two largest mass graves in Teharje near Celje and in Karstic caves in the Kočevje forest.
