Abstrakt | Puumala (PUUV), Dobrava (DOBVl, Hantaan (HTNV), Saaremaa (SAAV) and Seoul (SEOV) hantaviruses are causative agents of haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in Europe and Asia. During the past decade, the incidence of hantaviral cases has grown in several endemic regions. In addition, hantavirus infections are found in newareas, thus leading to growing demand for hantaviral diagnostics. Here we describe enzyme immunoassay tests based on a recombinant hantavirus nucleocapsid protein for the detection of hantaVlrus IgM or IgG antibodies present in human serum. Both IgM and IgG antibodies against PUUV, DOBV and HTNV hantaviruses are detected with high sensitivity (95-100 %) and speciflclty (98-100 %). | |
