Abstrakt		The article deals with the idea and definition of health promotion as the process of increasing control over and health improving it. Basic prinicples and priority Health promotion actions important for achievement targets are given. In this respect, all activities concerning public health policy strengten community action, develop personal skills and reorientation of health care services are exposed. The paper deals with the latest oral health achievements in Slovenia. Some strategic guidelines for redefinition of oral health targets are given. Health promotion should be considered as a development challenge for all parties involved in which each profession has to define its own contribution.
