Abstract		Two charts, showing datas by percentile curves, were prepared to show the eruption pattern of permanent teeth, one for girls and one for boys. They should be used to evaluate variations in the eruption pattern of permanent teeth among Slovenian children according to age and sex. For 70.016 girls and 72.945 boys between five and fifteen of age data on the eruption of permanent teeth were obtained from the National Oral Health Data Base, maintained since 1984. The children ranking between 10 and 90 per cent have normal biological values, but in the children ranking below the 10, or even the 5 per cent with respect to the number of erupted permanent teeth, the cause for delay should be identified and proper treatment applied. The charts are meant to serve as a diagnostic tool, helping the dentist to decide when to refer a child for X-ray examination. They should contribute to earlier detection of unerupted permanent teeth, recognition of the causes and more effective therapy.
