Abstrakt		On the base of a 10 years prospective studies the author ascertained, that the distance between the wings in the two types of confectional vestibular shields, is adequate. The high intercanine part of the shield has a stimulating influence on the treatment. By an extensive overjet the shield causes too large stretching of the lover lip. Therefore the author suggests an inclination of the lover intercanine part of the shield backwards for 1,5 mm by the smaller one and for 2 mm by the bigger one.
