Abstract     Adapted movement education programmes are considered in a framework of importance of movement activites for children's psychomotor, cognitive, and affective abilities. New possibilities of adapted movement programmes are based on fact that children not just learn to move, but also can learn through movement. Movement aids in developing and reinforcing perceptual-motor skills and academic concepts. It also serves as a medium for encouraging affective (self-concept) and social development. Such movement programmes enable to meet on optimal level different special needs of children.
