Abstract     Psychoanalysis is an interdisciplinary science. Beside being a therapeutic method it is also a theoretic corpus trying to give a profound explantation of man's feeling as well as his actions functioning of human body. No doubt, it has always attracted wider intellectual circles. It become a domain of psychology, pedagogy, philosophy and literature. Prof. Alfred Šerko, a well known neuropsychiatrist, was the first one in our country to devote his attention, however with diversion, to psychoanalysis. Much later, between the world wars, Vladimir Bartol was its ardent and intensive supporter. From 1924 held several lectures on psychoanalysis, published many articles, and presented his work on the radio. Thus he contributed a great deal to popularization of this discipline. Besides, psychoanalysis is present in his literary work, specially in the novel "čudež na vasi". The records of his psychoanalytical sessions show that he has also put psychoanalysis into practice. It is a pity he contributed his articles only in the popular magazines and he didn't publish any translations. Thus his contribution remained in a shadow and with no real influence. So Bartol cannot be called "the father" of psychoanalysis in Slovenia. My article will mostly deal with Bartol "clinic" and Bartol creator of a literary figure - therapeutist.
