Abstract		The paper outlines changes in the resuscitation procedure for dental patients, which were adopted at the National Conference of the American heart Association held in Dallas in 1992, and at the 2nd Congress of the European Resuscitation Council held in Mainz in 1994. The new guidelines emphasize the importance of ready to basic life support equipment, early use of defibrillation for control of ventricular fibrillation, and a wider selection of drugs in the emergency kit. All drugs must be administered intravenously and flushed down with 20-30 ml of physiological saline.
