Abstract     Sensitivity of two measurement methods for measuring dynamic properties of great gluteal muscle has been studied on 37 individuals after above-knee amputation. Threshold amplitude for twitch and train electrical impulses has been determinated by measuring the radial displacement of the muscle belly and hip extension torque. Threshold amplitude is significantly lower for radial displacement method when twitch stimuli have been used and also the amplitude of the response is greater. Measurement of radial displacement of great gluteal muscle belly is more sensitive and therefore more appropriate for measurement of muscle dynamic.
