Abstract		A step in linking medical computer networks in Slovenia to the Communication and Information Network of the Medical Faculty (KIM MF) is proposed. The resulting network of networks would be called Kim-med. Organisations included would get connectivity to the KIM MF, to networks in Slovenia and in the world. Each organisation would manage their network the same way as now, but some activities could becommon, e.g. scientific communication services, education, helgping users, registration and assignment of network numbers, and coordination with ARNES and other networks. We propose that the point where all networks will join would be called Medical Internet Exchange (MIX). Institute for Biomedical Informatics already managing KIM MF would manage it as well. health and medical organisations would connect to Kim-med directly or indirectly, depending on technical possibilities and financial sources. In the first phase, Clinical Centre, Institute of Oncology and Blood Transfusion Centre will be included.
