Background: COVID-19 infection can cause pneumonia and respiratory as well as multi-organ failure with short- and long-term consequences. Patients after COVID-19 need specific, evidence-based rehabilitation measures. Methods: A review of papers published in 2020 gathered from the Cochrane Rehabilitation website was performed and articles describing peripheral neurological lesions as a consequence of COVID-19, associated limitations of the patients' activities and rehabilitation were selected. Results: The studies published in the first year of epidemics provide lowgrade evidence, mostly presenting case reports of complications with COVID-19 patients, descriptions of patient's early rehabilitation and expert opinions on further rehabilitation. Absence of randomized controlled studies limits the understanding of efficacy of specific rehabilitation approaches in these patients. Conclusions: The evidence from studies published so far is mostly of low grade and offers little useful instructions for pots-acute rehabilitation. However, based on those findings and our experience after one year of epidemics, we are convinced that patients after COVID- 19 pneumonia and respiratory failure require comprehensive rehabilitation.
