Abstrakt		The health care in Slovenia has undergone significant changes in the few recent years. Many fundamental changes, among which the privatision is of crucial importance, haven't yet achieved their main objective, that is improved efficiency and quality, based on well defined and controlled financial resources. We have, however, observed many positive results, such as awareness of medical staff as well as patients that a high quality national health care system should not be taken as granted, but should be based and developed on extremely careful planning of resources, capabilities and demands. Apart from the enthusiasm brought by all these changes, there is also concern over the dangers that they may bring. One important issue is definitely the danger of an increase in already existing inequalities in health status of the population.
