Abstract		National health information system in Slovenia is being upgraded according to the principles, developed in U.K. But the term "national" was still recently interpreted as "administrative", emphasizing the government authority rather than referring to the national community itself. The minimum data set, obtained from an overall feasibility study, is not sufficient for legislation purposes. Instead, a new term "common data set" is suggested and the deterministic method presented.
