Abstract		Background: Computerized tomography (CT) or X-ray CT is a method allowing the investigation of organs in transverse section. For the patient the investigation is nonaggressive and is used for diagnostic as well as therapeutic purposes. Our paper gives a survey of organs and pathologic conditions in which internal psecialists mostly make use of a diagnostic procedure including CT. Conclusions: CT investigations indicated by internal specialists at Maribor Teaching Hospital are reviewed and the possibility of implementing a more modern device is pointed out.
