Abstract     Helicobacter pylori (HP) causes 50-90% of gastric diseases with histomorphological characteristics of chronic active gastritis as the leading injury. HP colonisaton of the gastric mucosa provokes degenerative so as reactive inflammatory changes and stimulates malignant lymphatic or carcinomatous neoplasia. Infection with HP appearing mostly without marked clinical symptoms is a warning of peptic ulcer disease, gastric MALT lymphoma and adenocarcinoma. This rediscovered organism spread all over the world means a dangerous pathogen which requires eradication therapy.
