Abstrakt		Authors review the cases of colorectal pathology operated in emergency from 1988 to 1996. 99 were the patients operated either for obstruction, acute bleeding or perforation. Even if the subjects observed were mostly affected by neoplastic disease and they were old (35 % over eighty) the authors managed to perform one stage resection-anastomosis in one time in most of the cases. It is, anyway, quite difficult to give definite guidelines concerning emergency colorectal surgery because the surgeon has to deal with an older patient, in bad general condition and with very often a locally advanced pathology.
