Abstrakt		Dr. Jože Rant studied medicine in Gradec, Zagreb and Vienna, Where he graduated in 1923 and after 5 years finished his specialization in dentistry. As there were no jaw surgeons and not even orthodontists in Slovenia, he specialized on his own at the leading experts in Vienna and Graz, Austria. The knowledge he acquired and the connections he made contributed a great deal to the fast and successful organization of all branches of stomathology in Slovenia after the Second World War.
