Abstract | GH co-treatment was applied in 135 clonidine negative patients in a prospective randomized study. The clonidine test was performed after 5 unsuccessful IVF trials. The standard long protocol of GmRH-analogue and HMG was used by adding 12 IU of GH for six times on alternate days of HMG stimulation. GH cotreatment provided statistically significant higher number of oocytes retrieved and fertilized, and consequently of embryos transfered than in previous unsuccessful IVF cycles. In GH co-treated cycles the take home baby rate was 10.4% per cycle, whereas the pregnancy rate in previous unsuccessful cycles was 0.7%, all pregnancies ending in spontanous abortion. GH co-treatment can be an alternate type of ovarian stimulation in patients with previous unsuccessful IVF trials and negative clonidine test. | |
