Abstract     In July the grass pollen was present in the air continuounsly. The daily counts were low to moderate (Figure 5.4). Sweet chestnut started to bloom in June but the counts of pollen reached peak on July 9th (Figure 5.10). In 1996 it happened as early as on June 27th. Nettle pollen had in July the highest average daily concentrations (Figure 5.10), fortunately it is not allergenic. Pollen of Chenopodiaceae and plantain was also present in the air in very small concentration, maximum concentration was 10 pollen grains per m3. In the third decade of July (July 23rd) appeared mugwort pollen (Figure 5.4) and four days latter the pollen of ragweed. Pollen of these two plants will contunue to be in the air all August and September until the first frost.
