Abstrakt     Transdental or transradicular fixation is a method of fastening the tooth to the bone by means of implants inserted through the root. The implant lengthens the tooth axis in the apical region, whereby stable fixation is provided. The method can be used in the maxilla and the mandible. Wirz's transdental implant system includes transfixion pins of uniform lentth of 36.6 mm and three different diameters: 1.2, 1.4 and 1.7 mm.
