Abstract		The paper presents the development and the situation in the field of home help with functional activities of daily living for the elderly in Slovenia and (1) describes the eraly researches, trying to establish the extent of the need for home-help; (2) describes three pionerring action-research projects of home-help, conducted in the late 80-ies, analyses and discusses their findings; (3) describes a recent model of home-help through public works; and (4) presents a framework for the evaluation of the projects, applied in the evaluation of the recent projects.
